Job Summary
Staff Nurse in the Northwestern Medicine Wound Clinic (part-time, 30 hours/week, 5 six-hour shifts Mon-Fri) providing direct patient care across the system. Responsibilities include assessing patient status on admission and during care, documenting diagnoses and plan of care, initiating discharge planning, providing patient/family education, coordinating with the healthcare team, and delivering evidence-based nursing interventions. Requires nursing license (IL) and either a BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years; BLS is required, with ER/Pediatric ER and Non-Invasive Cardiology roles requiring ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC within defined timelines. Strong collaboration, communication, and analytic skills are essential; experience in acute care settings is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
- ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within specified timelines for ER/Pediatric ER roles (as applicable)
- Experience or preference for Emergency Room, Pediatric ER, or Non-Invasive Cardiology environments (preferred)
- Trauma Nurse Specialist certification and Pediatric Nurse certifications (preferred)
