Job Summary
Assess patients to identify care needs, then organize, implement, and evaluate nursing plans in accordance with hospital policies. Administer medications as ordered, maintain accurate patient care records, and function as charge nurse when assigned. Recognize life-threatening situations, adjust care for age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs, and establish collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary staff. Monitor quality of care based on outcome-oriented indicators while actively participating in cost containment and accurate charging. Maintain required competencies and facilitate a safe environment for patients.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse
- Compact state licensure
- At least 1 year of Wound Care or Med Surg experience
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Verbal and written skills
- Effective organizational and leadership skills
- Knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of the patients typically served
- Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs
- Visual acuity for observation of patients
- Ability to lift 35 pounds
- BLS - American Heart Association
- RN - Board Of Nursing
