Job Summary

Assess patients' conditions, evaluate walk-in patients, and classify problems as emergent, urgent, or non-urgent. Administer medications, prepare patients for provider visits, and oversee off-site referrals and tests. Maintain accurate patient records, respond to telephone inquiries, and review lab, x-ray, and emergency room reports. Deliver direct patient care, provide medical education, and collaborate with the healthcare team to attain health goals. Maintain a clean, safe clinic environment and respond appropriately to abnormal or threatening conditions. Requires current Illinois RN license, BSN or diploma, and two years of clinical experience.

Required Qualifications

  • BSN, Registered Nurse Diploma or Certification, must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • CPR certified
  • Currently licensed to practice in the State of Illinois
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain high level of organization
  • Ability to learn reasonably quickly
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to relate to persons of various economic levels and cultures
  • Ability to remain relaxed and calm under stressful situations
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in English
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively
  • Above average level of interest in working with people and data
  • Cooperative and non-competitive attitude with ability to take initiative
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and superior customer service skills while working in a fast-paced, moderately stressful environment
  • High proficiency in nursing procedures and use of medical equipment appropriate to the job
  • Patient and staff friendly with excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of telephone system, computer, and basic office equipment
  • Working knowledge of adult and/or pediatric nursing and medications
  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to deliver medical services and use equipment
  • Ability to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues, contagious diseases and/or other potentially hazardous materials
  • Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform manipulative skills
  • moderate physical exertion including frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying moderately heavy loads (up to 25 lbs.)

Desired Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of successful experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in English; Spanish desirable
