Job Summary
Registered Nurse in Women’s Services (Labor and Delivery/Nursery) at SSM Health Good Samaritan Mount Vernon supports woman-, newborn-, and family-centered care through data-driven planning, care coordination, health teaching, and interprofessional collaboration. Responsible for delivering evidence-based nursing practice, ethical decision-making, and mentorship to colleagues while maintaining safety, cultural sensitivity, and quality in a high-acuity obstetric setting. Night shift (7 PM–7 AM) with rotating weekends/holidays; requires BLS, RN licensure (Missouri or Compact), and professional certifications such as ALS, NRP/PALS as applicable, with ongoing competency to care for women and newborns across the perinatal continuum.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- State of Work Location: Missouri
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration OR RN issued by Compact State
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy Pediatrics (AAP) OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) OR NRP Essentials - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
