Job Summary

Conduct complex assessments of patients with fecal and urinary diversions, wounds, drains, pressure sores, and incontinence across neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Develop and update nursing care plans for Enterostomal Therapy patients, prioritizing interventions in rapidly changing situations while documenting outcomes. Provide direct care, patient teaching, and counseling on diversion, wound, and incontinence management; serve as a clinical resource for staff on diagnoses and psychosocial needs. Mentor registered nurses and participate in nursing quality teams, research studies, and strategic direction activities. Requires current RN license in Georgia and three years of progressive nursing experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license or temporary permit in Georgia
  • Degree in Nursing
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in a health care setting
  • Demonstrated aptitude for, and interest in, Enterostomal Therapy
  • The ability to teach, to communicate, and to work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate activities related to patient care
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to carry 20 lbs
  • Must be able to see heavily and constantly
  • Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, stand, and walk frequently
  • Must be able to push and pull frequently
  • Must be able to read, write, reason, talk, and keyboard

Desired Qualifications

  • Enterostomal Therapy certification
