Job Summary
Conduct emergency department nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, evaluation, and documentation. Coordinate patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining professional standards. Direct care for assigned population, assume responsibility as Charge Nurse, and participate in peer review and unit committees. Solicit and validate patient/family satisfaction and develop educational materials for staff and patients. Complete yearly mandatory competencies, Professional Practice Ladder requirements, and submit an annual portfolio by March 1st. Requires RN license (Virginia/West Virginia), BLS certification, and Education Associates Nursing degree. Pay range $34.00 - $48.87; part-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse II (RN II)
- Education Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN)
- Bachelor's Nursing (BSN)
- 1872 full-time or part-time hours (936 if hold BSN) of RN experience
- RN license
- Licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia and/or West Virginia
- Multistate license under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- Single-state license valid in Virginia or West Virginia only
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved
- American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification
- Must have a reliable means of phone communication with hospital
