Job Summary
Registered Nurse provides plans, coordinates and manages nursing care and health education for nursing home residents under the supervision of the Director of Nursing; supervises nursing assistants and other staff assigned to the unit, assigns work, monitors performance, and coordinates nursing care to ensure resident safety; administers and documents medications and treatments per physician orders; conducts nursing assessments, develops and implements a plan of care, and coordinates with physicians and the InterACT program to optimize resident outcomes; requires current RN license, CPR certification, and prefers 2 years’ experience in long-term care; weekend day schedule and benefits package offered.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN)
- Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired
- Prefer 2 years’ experience in a long-term care setting
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in gerontological nursing
- Basic computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records Preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to communicate orally and through written reports and other documents relating to resident, staff and others
- Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical journals and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
