Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients while recognizing the need for collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to resolve patient needs. Synthesize available data to optimize outcomes based on ANA Scope and Standards of Practice. Demonstrate commitment to quality and safety through evidence-based practice, utilizing effective communication with patients, families, staff, and colleagues. Coordinate patient education throughout the treatment course and function as a department team member supporting unit goals and performance improvement processes. Perform validated technical skills and utilize technology to optimize care delivery. Provide leadership by teaching, mentoring new colleagues and interns, delegating based on team member skills and patient acuity, and providing input for performance appraisals.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Nursing program
- Knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice
- Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care
- Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty
- Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies
- Basic computer skills
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- Lift and carry 40-50 lbs
- Frequent to continuous standing/walking
- Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift
- Activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR
