Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment settings, including detoxification and residential services. Responsibilities include independent assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, and coordinating services across an interdisciplinary treatment team. Administer medications, including detoxification and MAT protocols, and respond to acute medical and behavioral health needs. Conduct physical and behavioral health assessments, monitor withdrawal (CIWA, COWS as applicable), support MAT education and adherence, and ensure documentation complies with the Vermont Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies. Supervise LPNs and unlicensed personnel, facilitate admissions/transfers/discharges, and coordinate referrals. Maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment; participate in audits and quality-improvement activities; and perform shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong emphasis on leadership, crisis management, and effective communication with patients and care teams; experience with EHRs and regulatory compliance is preferred.
