Job Summary
RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care on a nursing unit according to unit policies; provides supervision of non-RN personnel; acts as Charge Nurse; prepares care plans, educates patients and families, coordinates with healthcare team, and demonstrates competency in neuro patient care (neuro assessment, airway management, tracheostomy care, ventilator care). The role includes precepting new staff and potentially working on other nursing units as needed; position described within Cardiac ICU/Neuro ICU contexts at YNHH/YNHHS, with emphasis on high-acuity cardiac/neuro care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
