Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care on ICU units (including Neuro and Cardiothoracic/Cardiac ICU) under supervision of Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; supervise non-RN personnel; serve as Charge Nurse; precept new staff; manage airway and tracheostomy care for neuro patients; care for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients; participate in education and family teaching programs; ensure adherence to unit policies, performance expectations, and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. All newly hired registered nurses must have current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire.
- Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged.
