Job Summary
Registered Nurse position on Neuro/Cardiac ICU units within YNHHS, with supervision by Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and supervising patient care on a nursing unit; supervising non‐RN personnel; serving as charge nurse; coordinating care across units; documenting plans of care; providing patient and family education; and participating in professional development. Requires competency in neuro assessments, airway management, care of trached patients, post-operative cardiac care, and familiarity with devices (IABP, Impella/VADs, ECMO) and related procedures. Licensure in CT and BCLS certification required or obtained shortly after hire; BSN preferred; organizational emphasis on integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
