Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans for critically ill and injured patients during interfacility transport. Manage ventilators, infusion pumps, vasoactive medications, and specialty equipment while interpreting cardiac rhythms and initiating interventions. Collaborate with paramedics, physicians, and receiving facilities to ensure continuity of care, serving as clinical leader when assigned. Maintain ambulance readiness, document all events accurately, and participate in quality improvement and continuing education. Work 12–24 hour shifts in ambulances, hospitals, and outdoor environments, adhering to California nursing regulations and CONFIRE clinical protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Current California Registered Nurse License in good standing
  • Minimum three (3) years recent ICU or Emergency Department experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • Must be able to lift 100+ pounds with assistance
  • Must be able to push and pull stretchers
  • Must be able to work in confined ambulance environments
  • Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, climb, bend, and reach frequently
  • Must be able to work 12–24 hour shifts
  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions

Desired Qualifications

  • BSN preferred
  • Critical Care Transport experience preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale (preferred)
  • TNCC (preferred)
  • CCRN (preferred)
  • CTRN preferred within designated timeframe after hire
