Job Summary

Lead the Dedicated Oncology Unit as a Unit Coordinator, demonstrating proficiency in nursing practice and providing clinical leadership for care delivery. Under the department manager's direction, lead safety and quality initiatives, simplify workflow, and contribute to staff development. Increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service while managing a 36-bed intermediate care unit dedicated to cancer patients. Requires a BSN, 18 months of RN experience, and ONS/ONCC certification. Full-time day shift (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) with every other weekend rotation and holiday duty. Join Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a Magnet hospital and primary teaching facility for Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • 18 months RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara-approved Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card
  • Every other weekend availability
  • Holiday Rotation
  • Full-time, 36 hours per week
  • Days shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
