Job Summary
Coordinate the Emergency Department unit as a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, managing patient flow and resource allocation within a Level I Trauma Center. Provide direct clinical care to patients across emergency, trauma, cardiac, stroke, and critical care cases while supervising nursing staff and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Work the evening shift from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. or 1:00 p. to 1:00 a.m., with every other weekend availability and required holiday rotation. Maintain BLS certification within 90 days and hold a BSN, with 18 months of RN experience and preferred ED or supervisory background. Desired Qualifications
- Certification/Licensure Requirements: NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS
- Emergency Department experience
- Supervisory experience
- Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience
