Job Summary
RN Triage Nurse focuses on rapid assessment and prioritization of every citizen entering the shelter for treatment. Evaluates incoming patients to determine severity, prioritizes care, participates in shelter operations, coordinates transfers, documents arrivals, and determines if higher level of care is needed. Provides appropriate medical care within scope, communicates with patients and healthcare teams, completes organizational compliance education for Joint Commission staffing certification or other regulatory bodies, and may undertake additional duties as required. Requires nursing degree (associates or bachelor’s) and Florida RN license, with at least 1 year of professional nursing experience; BLS is required and ACLS/PALS are preferred. The role supports post-disaster mission and involves on-site work with shifts described as 12 hours daily until completion; travel to Sarasota is required as notified. The position carries compensation determined by qualifications and geographic market data, and offers full-time benefits for eligible roles. Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an associate's or baccalaureate nursing program for Registered Nurses located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory accredited by ACEN or CCNE
- Current, full and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida
- Minimum one year of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office or residential setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Preferred: ACLS, PALS
- Current and valid driver's license
- Experience with special needs populations (preferred)
- Understanding of Nursing operations in an austere environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA/Privacy Act and PII handling
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint
