Job Summary
Lead the multidisciplinary trauma team as the clinical expert to ensure every patient receives immediate, life-saving interventions from arrival to final disposition. Coordinate seamless communication between emergency responders and hospital specialists to prepare the team for specific patient needs. Direct all bedside care and clinical protocols to guarantee standardized, high-quality evaluations meeting rigorous safety guidelines. Advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well-being as the primary link between medical staff and the individual. Manage the constant readiness of the trauma environment by overseeing equipment and supplies to enable life-saving procedures without delay. Requires a licensed Registered Nurse with BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications, plus one year of Trauma ICU and Charge Nurse experience. Day shift full-time role at Via Christi St Francis in Wichita, KS, with a sign-on bonus up to $12,500.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification obtained within six months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of recent, hands-on experience in a dedicated Trauma Intensive Care Unit
- At least 1 year of experience serving in a Charge Nurse capacity
