Job Summary
Assess and record patient status upon admission, organize health data, and identify problems requiring immediate attention. Validate diagnoses, document care plans, and initiate discharge planning at the time of admission. Prioritize evidence-based nursing interventions, provide individualized patient and family education, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions from the ER to inpatient care. Requires a BSN (or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years), current Illinois RN license, BLS, and ACLS. Experience in Telemetry or Med Surg preferred. Internal employee ADN candidates encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Strong analytic abilities
- Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role
- ACLS
- PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- TNCC within one year of hire
- ACLS
