Job Summary
Provide quality nursing care for geriatric patients by following physician orders, state/federal regulations, and facility policies. Administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous) as ordered, supervise nursing assistants and orderlies, assist physicians with rounds, participate in patient care during rounds and treatments, maintain infection control measures, document appropriately, and help coordinate admissions and annual physicals ensuring timely completion of necessary documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license from North Carolina Board of Nursing (current, valid)
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- CPR certified yearly
- Ability to supervise nursing assistants and coordinate care
- Experience or ability to assist physicians with rounds and patient care coordination
- Knowledge/implementation of infection control and Standard/Universal Precautions
- Ability to follow physician orders, policies, and procedures
- Background checks/drug-free workplace
