Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care and case management for individuals supported by The Arc of Southern Maryland. Deliver care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation), administer medications, ensure HIPAA compliance, and coordinate with individuals, families, staff, and health professionals. Conduct regular nursing assessments and 45-day/90-day medication reviews, prepare reports on site surveys, train consumers and staff on protocols (e.g., glucose monitoring, g-tube, colostomy), monitor medication errors, and participate in CQI efforts. Travel within the Tri-County area as needed to support multiple Arc locations; maintain documentation and communication with physicians and medical suppliers; provide emergency response and on-call support as required. The role requires strong organizational skills, effective verbal/written communication, ability to work with people with developmental disabilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
Required Qualifications
- RN degree from an accredited nursing school and/or college
- valid nursing license in the State of Maryland
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- demonstrated knowledge of state regulations, requirements, and licensing
- proficiency with computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, Access)
- valid driving license with good driving record
- ability to pass criminal background check in Maryland
- experience working with people with developmental disabilities
