Job Summary
Coordinate nursing and resident services within the neighbourhood and residence, leading shift reports to ensure all team members are informed of resident status changes. Review and process physician orders promptly, documenting significant condition changes in the chart per AgeCare policies and provincial standards. Immediately communicate any difficulties in processing orders to the Director of Care. This temporary part-time role (0.40 FTE) ends June 2027 and requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with geriatric or long-term care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food and Drugs Act (Canada)
- Knowledge of the Controlled Substances Act (Canada)
- Knowledge of the Health Promotion and Protection Act
- Knowledge of the Personal Health Protection Act
- Knowledge of the Coroners Act
- Knowledge of Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice
- Knowledge of other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department
- Registration and membership in good standing with provincial registry
