Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, social, and psychological status while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans. Implement delegated care consistent with professional licensure and guidelines, prioritizing patient needs through effective time and resource management. Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revise care plans as necessary, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of all clinical outcomes. Maintain legal and ethical standards throughout practice, including compliance with regulatory requirements and scope of licensure. Perform manual tasks such as transferring patients, ambulating individuals, and operating medical equipment while managing high-volume documentation and communication demands.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
  • Degree will be verified
  • Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
  • Must comply with all applicable Intermountain policies and expectations
  • Must acknowledge that outside employment or activities may not interfere with job responsibilities or create a conflict of interest with Intermountain

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
  • BSN is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025
  • Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire
