Job Summary
Assess and record patient status upon admission, organize health data, and identify problems requiring immediate attention. Validate diagnoses with patients and the healthcare team, document individualized plans of care, and initiate discharge planning at the time of admission. Prioritize evidence-based nursing interventions, provide patient and family education, and review health data to update the plan of care with measurable goals. Communicate patient progress to multidisciplinary meetings and make appropriate referrals for continuity of care. Requires a BSN (or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years), current Illinois RN license, BLS certification, and strong analytic skills. Part-time night shift at Palos Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Strong analytic abilities
- Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role
- ACLS
- PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support TNCC within one year of hire
- Background Check authorization and disclosure form

- Emergency Communications Registered Nurse Certified
