Job Summary
Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care within the Main OR. Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients while delegating tasks based on skill level, experience, and acuity. Provide leadership through preceptor roles, mentoring, teaching, and quality improvement efforts. Participate on committees or projects as needed. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Excellent communication skills
- Skillful in mentoring and teaching
- Ability to function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model
- Knowledge of ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice
- Ability to provide leadership through preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts
- Ability to delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources
- Ability to coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care
- Ability to support professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care
- Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients
- Ability to participate on committees or projects
- Ability to drive their personal vehicle
