Job Summary
Circulate in CABG and valve cases as a Staff RN directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services. Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for neonates through older adults. Coordinate care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, guide OR technicians, and maintain professional nursing standards while ensuring efficient patient flow and unit maintenance. Adhere to hospital policies and participate in performance improvement activities and unit meetings. Requires current RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with a minimum of one year perioperative experience. Full-time evening shift at Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- Open Heart Surgery experience
- ability to circulate in CABG and Valve cases
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
