Job Summary
Assess assigned patients, evaluate treatment plans, and modify care based on responses and physician orders. Review diagnostic tests, consult with healthcare professionals, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures while providing psychological support. Safely administer medications, operate medical equipment, and assist new staff as a preceptor. Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members, and utilize resources for discharge planning. Prioritize assignments to render superior patient care while adapting to changing demands and safeguarding university assets.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Florida Registered Nurse License
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (i.e. sanitation, decontamination etc.)
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BSN) preferred
