Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients in the Surgical Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues while communicating with team members, patients, and families. Update and manage patient records by entering and interpreting computerized data. Follow established guidelines and assist leadership in quality improvement projects. This 28-bed unit provides post-operative care for complex trauma, neurology, cardiac, vascular, and general surgery patients.
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license or the ability to obtain one
- 1+ years of RN experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN
- Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, as well as receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
- Must complete a background check before beginning their employment
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- BSN degree (preferred)
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty (for units where certification is not strictly required by the sentence structure, though context implies preference for specific areas)
