Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process in a rotating 12X3 night shift schedule. Administer safe, accurate, and timely medications and IVs while maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients, families, and coworkers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver age-appropriate care and ensure complete, accurate communication of patient information. Assume responsibility for patient/family education processes and evaluate understanding of provided information. Maintain a safe facility by adhering to hospital standards and utilizing strong interpersonal relationships to promote a cooperative work environment. Take initiative for professional growth and performance accountability within the surgical intensive care unit.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program
- Knowledgeable about hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards
- Works with confidential material
- Valid driver's license (implied by 'Required to report to work' in inclement weather status and physical demands)
- Vision Essential (implied by 'Visual Demands: Yes/No - Vision Essential')
