Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Administer medications and IVs safely while ensuring complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information. Supervise assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to deliver age-appropriate care in accordance with unit standards. This role requires a Texas-licensed RN with at least 12 months of experience and BLS certification, working rotating 12-hour night shifts. Methodist Richardson Medical Center is a Magnet-designated hospital and the nation's first to receive The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Pancreatic/Hepatic/Biliary Cancer Certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program
- Knowledgeable about hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards
- Works with confidential material
- Valid driver's license (implied by 'Required to report to work' in inclement weather and physical demands)
- Vision Essential (implied by 'Visual Demands: Yes/No - Vision Essential')
