Registered Nurse - Surgical

Job Summary
Performs nursing care using the nursing process for a designated group of surgical patients; collaborates with physicians and health-team members, directs/delegates activities on the patient care unit, and uses leadership and clinical judgment to coordinate care. Conducts patient interviews, assesses multiple organ systems, determines mobility and pain management needs, documents plan of care, and coordinates discharge planning. Requires current New York State RN license; BSN preferred with enrollment in BSN program and a plan to obtain BSN within five years. Provides patient/family education and ensures safety and quality in care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred; must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program and obtain BSN degree within five years of job entry
