Registered Nurse - Surgery

Job Summary
Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. Performs scrub functions including instrument and supply handling; circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures. Directly assists the operating physician with hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, and supports patient positioning. Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments/equipment; applies evidence-based practice and the ANA Code of Ethics to nursing care aligned with the patient’s age-specific and clinical needs per the department’s Scope of Service. Must hold a nursing license (RN) and BLS certification; no experience required. Schedule: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM with on-call requirements (weekday nights, weekend 12-hour shifts, holidays); 36 weekly hours. Location: SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – St. Louis, MO. Required Qualifications
- RN license - Missouri or applicable compact state
- BLS Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
