Registered Nurse Surger Center Per Diem

Per diem Registered Nurse in a surgery center setting supporting pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care under supervision. Responsible for obtaining medical history, discussing procedures, and performing nursing assessments; administer medications and IV moderate sedation as directed, provide patient education on post-procedure care, and ensure accurate documentation from admission to discharge. Acts as scrub technologist as needed, assists with patient workflow and instrument/equipment preparation, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with physicians and facility management. Maintains CQI processes, adheres to regulatory and organizational policies, ensures safety and environmental integrity, and supports continuous quality improvement efforts. Requires RN licensure, ACLS and BLS certifications, and strong proficiency in IV insertion, cardiac rhythm recognition, and use of relevant healthcare software. Education achievements include a nursing degree with Bachelor’s strongly preferred; high school diploma is required with higher degrees desirable. Proficiency with documentation, HIPAA compliance, and ability to work in a fast-paced surgical center environment are essential.
