Job Summary
Direct daily nursing activities for LPNs, MACs, and CNAs while providing resident care including assessments, care planning, treatments, medications, and interventions. Conduct rounds with physicians, review and transcribe orders, and complete medication audits and counts. Communicate resident status, new admissions, and shift occurrences to physicians, the Director of Nursing, and oncoming staff. Meet with residents and family members as necessary and report discrepancies or problem areas to leadership. Maintain documentation consistent with policies and regulations. Requires current Alabama RN license, one year skilled nursing facility experience preferred, and ability to walk 75% of the day. Full-time role with pay in lieu of benefits and shift differentials.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse – RN by the State of Alabama
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state
- Current CPR certification
- Computer skills and the ability to become proficient with appropriate software
- The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be able to move about intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance
- Must be able to walk/stand 75% of the day
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
