Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, interpret data for diagnoses, and implement evidence-based interventions to resolve patient health alterations. Plan, provide, and document individual patient and family teaching, while initiating discharge plans upon admission and throughout hospitalization. Serve as a liaison between bedside nurses, the primary team, and ICU/ER staff to foster communication and expedite critical decision-making during Rapid Response alerts. Manage continual data collection, storage, and submission for performance improvement, ensuring JCAHO stroke care standards are met consistently. Supervise LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel. Requires Virginia RN licensure with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; 2+ years in ICU, ED, or Stroke Unit preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Licensed to work as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- 2+ years' experience in an Intensive Care setting, Emergency Department, and/or Stroke Unit
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Recent stroke care experience
