Job Summary
Prepare patients for interventional radiology and vascular procedures by checking vital signs, analyzing lab results, and inserting or removing IV lines. Administer drugs including moderate sedation while monitoring patient patterns and vital signs throughout the procedure. Oversee patient safety and comfort, provide education to patients and family members, and offer post-procedure monitoring. Supervise care given by nonprofessional staff and provide instruction as needed. Requires current Texas nursing license, two years of moderate sedation experience, and ACLS/BLS certification. Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds are required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing or BSN
- Two years of moderate sedation administration and recovery
- Current license to practice nursing in the state of Texas
- Minimum of six months of recent experience as a professional nurse
- ACLS/BLS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab
- Experience in Pre-Op/PACU, CV, and ICU
- Experience in Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab
