Registered Nurse Stepdown Nights

Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on stepdown nights while maintaining professional accountability. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information consistent with Mercy service standards. Full-time and part-time (.6 and above) positions offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus for RNs with 1+ year of experience. No call schedule applies. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and potential unit-specific certifications such as ACLS or NRP. Physical demands include lifting 50 pounds and prolonged standing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- One or more of the following certifications based on position/unit: ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, C-EFM, or other unit specific certifications
