Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Stepdown/Critical Care: Provides direct nursing care in stepdown/critical care settings with complex assessments and interventions in accordance with department policies and patient care protocols. Performs comprehensive data collection from patient and family to develop a holistic care plan, analyses assessment data to determine diagnoses, collaborates with the interprofessional team to identify optimal outcomes, and implements and evaluates the care plan. Maintains safety standards, uses evidence-based practice, and communicates effectively with patients, families, and team members. Requires licensure as an RN in applicable states (WI/IL/MO/OK per state requirements) and BLS; additional certifications such as ALS, ENPC/NRP, or PALS may be required per state. Schedule includes night shift (36 hours per week) in the Medical/Respiratory Care Unit. Locations across Wisconsin (Madison) and additional states with state-specific licensure. Works in a hospital setting with emphasis on critical care and patient safety. Includes duties related to clinical judgement, care coordination, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- No experience required
- State licenses in WI/IL/MO/OK per respective requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) or equivalent
- PALS/ENPC/NRP as applicable per state
- RN license in Illinois (IDFPR) or compact-state RN where applicable
- RN license in Missouri (Missouri DPR) or compact-state RN where applicable
- RN license in Oklahoma (OK OBN) or compact-state RN where applicable
- RN license in Wisconsin (Wisconsin DSPS) or compact-state RN where applicable
