Job Summary
Develop and review individualized nursing care plans while conducting patient health assessments and administering specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments. Initiate peripheral IV access or central line procedures (PICC, IVAD) and provide patient-centered care through observation, assessment, counseling, and health teaching. Monitor patients for infusion-related reactions, report adverse events to supervisors, and maintain required pharmacovigilance training. Document patient conditions and complete all reporting in accordance with company policies and provincial standards. This one-day-per-week flexible role offers comprehensive specialty pharmacological training and opportunities for professional development in infusion services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited program
- Current registration in good standing with the provincial nursing regulatory body
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS required for clinic roles
- Experience in acute care and/or specialty pharmaceutical administration
- Strong peripheral IV skills
- central line experience (IVAD, PICC)
- Strong patient assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Critical care (ER/ICU), infusion clinic, oncology, or home care experience
- Strong peripheral IV skills; central line experience (IVAD, PICC) an asset
