Job Summary

Provide moderate to high risk neonatal care in a Level II setting, demonstrating competency in IV and phlebotomy skills while assessing infant needs and planning patient care. Deliver family-centered care with strong interpersonal abilities to prioritize tasks and foster teamwork within a dynamic environment. Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, hold BCLS, NICU, and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certifications, and possess breastfeeding certification. Complete required pre-employment medical clearance and immunization compliance. Work rotating 12-hour shifts Monday through Sunday, with a salary range of $41.15 to $58.98 per hour. Minimum two years of recent neonatal nursing experience in a Level II or III setting is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification required at time of hire
  • NICU course certificate and/or equivalent
  • Breastfeeding certification required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certificate required
  • Evidence of continuing education relevant to Special Care Nursery setting
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in Neonatal Nursing (Level II or III setting)
  • IV and phlebotomy skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assess the infant's needs and to plan, implement and assess patient care
  • Demonstrated commitment to family centred care within a Level II environment
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
  • Proof of immunity for certain diseases
  • Pre-employment medical clearance by our Health, Safety & Wellness team
  • Compliance with Halton Healthcare's Immunization Policies
  • Proof of vaccination or proof of a documented medical exemption
