Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized nursing care using the nursing process, collaborates with physicians and inter-professional colleagues, and cares for patients across preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning and coordination of care, patient education, triage, and various nursing interventions. Practitioners must operate within the Nurse Practice Act and applicable standards, maintaining competencies and adhering to ethical guidelines. Contracts are 14 weeks with the option to extend or transfer to another Sanford site. Licensure requirements include an unencumbered RN license (or multi-state licensure in NLC states) and meeting department-specific competencies. This role supports a travel staffing model at Chamberlain Medical Center in Chamberlain, SD, and includes rotating shifts with weekly pay and Sanford benefits if eligible.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing or multistate licensure if in an NLC state
- Obtains and maintains department specific competencies and certifications
- Contract length 14 weeks with option to extend or move to another Sanford site
- At least one year of experience
- At least six months of travel experience
