Job Summary
Provide quality nursing care for geriatric patients by following physician orders, regulations, and facility policies; administer all medications (oral, SQ, IM, IV) as ordered; supervise nursing assistants and orderlies; assist physicians with rounds and patient care during examinations and treatments; perform scheduled treatments, maintain infection control and Universal Precautions; assist with research related to nursing care quality and with records, orders, and assessments of admissions; coordinate scheduling for annual physicals with attending physicians and ensure timely documentation; requires RN license, NC Board license validity, CPR certification, and ability to supervise staff and collaborate with patients, families, doctors, and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current, valid license from North Carolina Board of Nursing
- CPR certified yearly
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Ability to supervise nursing assistants
- Ability to follow physician's orders and regulations
- Geriatric nursing interest
- Attend in-service training and staff meetings
