Job Summary
Collect, interpret, and document patient data to ensure safe surgical outcomes and plan discharge for ambulatory patients. Administer nursing interventions, organize monitoring equipment, and continuously evaluate patient responses to modify care plans as needed. Provide direct physiological and psychological care while communicating assessment results to staff and utilizing external resources like anesthesia or radiology. Based at Landmark Surgery Center in Woodbury, float to other locations in the network, and work flexible casual shifts with no guaranteed schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Casual SAU/PACU RN
- Supporting five Surgery Centers located in Woodbury, Eagan, Vadnais Heights, Plymouth, and Minnetonka
- Designated home base at Landmark Surgery Center in Woodbury
- Ability to float to other locations as needed
- Collect, interpret, record and communicate pertinent data relevant to providing and promoting a safe surgical patient outcome
- Follow established guidelines for providing administration of safe nursing care
- Organize equipment and monitoring devices needed to perform assessment
- Utilize available resources in planning care
- Utilize external resource staff as needed (physician's assistants, MRI / radiology; anesthesia, surgeon preferences)
- Revised plan of care as needed to accommodate patient's specific needs
- Communicate plan of care to other staff of the center as needed
- Provide direct care to patients, meeting their physiological and psychological needs
- Continuously evaluate the patient's response to nursing and surgical interventions
- Modify plan of care to accommodate change to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Pick up shifts based on availability and department needs
- No set or guaranteed schedule
