Job Summary
Responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients in a Same Day Surgery setting. Key responsibilities include assessing patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs, establishing a compassionate environment, creating and evaluating individualized care plans, documenting patient information accurately and timely, and advocating for the patient through collaboration with other health professionals. Required skills include clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to float to various nursing units. Must hold a current Illinois RN license and relevant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS Card
- Current ACLS card (within 6 months of hire)
- Current ACLS & PALS card (within 6 months of hire)
- TNCC (within 1 year of hire or residency graduation)
- ECRN (within 18 months of hire of residency graduation)
- ACLS, Fetal Monitoring – Monitoring, & NRP (within 6 months of hire)
- NRP (within 6 months of hire)
- ONS CTC-Infusion Center (Fundamentals within first 6 months) and Chemotherapy Certificate Course (within 1 year, renewed every 2 years)
Additional Requirements
- Current ACLS & PALS card (within 6 months of hire) required for certain units
- TNCC required within 1 year of hire or residency graduation for Emergency Room
