Job Summary

Assist physicians with office-based procedures and coordinate patient care within the Reproductive Medicine and Immunology Service. Review daily lab appointments, determine necessary testing, and manage order entry and result follow-ups. Set up and monitor IVIG infusions, assist with difficult blood draws and IV starts, and dispense medications per provider orders. Administer IM injections, conduct patient education on SQ and IM treatments, and manage medication prior authorizations. Coordinate with PSR staff on scheduling, address patient inquiries, and troubleshoot clinical issues across departments. Submit lab orders, ship kits, and respond to patient portals. Full-time position requiring 3-5 years of nursing experience, an active Illinois RN license, and BLS certification. Salary ranges from $29.02 to $38.46.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' nursing experience in a physician practice, ambulatory, or hospital setting
  • Active State of Illinois RN License
  • BSN degree
  • Excellent phlebotomy and IV skills
  • BLS Certification
  • Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check
  • Compliance with the current clinic vaccination policy
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and to interact effectively and maintain collegial relationships with administration, faculty, staff, and students
  • Strong work ethic and high-level integrity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; set priorities; multitask
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize responsibilities, and handle detailed job tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work/interact with diverse populations; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences, strong customer service orientation
  • Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, previous EMR software experience
  • Demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality and the ability to work with sensitive information, records, and reports
  • Ability to treat sensitive/confidential information with appropriate discretion
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to exercise sound judgement
  • Self-starter, self-directed, and excellent time management skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and develop process improvement with a drive for quality outcomes
  • Proficient use of computer software, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Desired Qualifications

  • reproductive medicine service preferred
  • Perioperative Services (ASU/PACU/OR) experience preferred
  • BSN degree preferred
  • ACLS Preferred
  • previous EMR software experience
  • Ability to continually learn additional systems and software in order to ensure adequate support for RFUHC/CIL
