Job Summary
Review physician prescriptions and develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and establishing diagnoses with defined interventions. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends while teaching self-care skills regarding conditions and medications. Evaluate patient care by measuring health outcomes against standards, documenting services in records, and maintaining a safe environment through infection-control protocols and medication administration. Coordinate with healthcare providers, troubleshoot equipment, manage supplies, and maintain competence in nursing capabilities. Work primarily nights with rotating weekends and holidays, adhering to Avera's mission of compassion and stewardship within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
- An active license in the state of practice
- The individual must be able to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- The ability to communicate effectively with others
- The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years Experience working in a clinical environment
