Job Summary
Assess, plan, educate, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate care for patients undergoing surgery before, during, and after procedures. Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety while re-prioritizing care plans based on changing conditions. Document assessments, anticipate potential problems, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to maintain a safe, family-centered environment. Requires 1-year OR experience, RN license, and CPR certification. Candidates must demonstrate strong critical thinking, communication skills, and willingness to engage in performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 1-year specific Operating Room experience
- 9 months experience in nursing (minimum)
- RN License by Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact
- CPR – Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, Associate's degree, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or an Associate's degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license required or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN with a verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement
