Job Summary
Conduct insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC), provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines, and perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV starts. Initiate training and education for nursing staff and patients, perform assessment skills, and plan nursing care. Intervene with appropriate action after needs are identified, evaluate the assessment, planning, and intervention process, and troubleshoot vascular access devices. Administer Cath Flow for obstructed lines per physician order. Requires current VA or compact state license, Associate's degree in nursing, and previous experience as a Vascular Access nurse. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8a-5p with no call or weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Current VA or compact state license
- Associate's degree in nursing
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of employment
- Previous experience as a Vascular Access nurse
