Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – VAD Coordinator role within YNHHS Cardiac/Neuro ICU units. Responsible for assessing and planning patient care, coordinating Plan of Care with the healthcare team, supervising non-RN staff, serving as Preceptor and Charge Nurse, and supporting education and discharge planning. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, CT RN licensure (BSN preferred), BCLS certification, and clinical competencies in neuro and cardiac critical care, including LVAD/ECMO support and airway management. Provides care in a fast-paced, high-acuity Cardiac ICU environment with opportunities for professional development and advancement within the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current RN license in the state of Connecticut (CT)
- BCLS certification or obtainable within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Experience in Neuro/CTICU and LVAD/ECMO environments may be beneficial
- Ability to function as Preceptor and Charge Nurse
- Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act and professional standards
