Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac ICU/CTICU setting within YNHHS, providing comprehensive nursing care from assessment through discharge planning. Responsibilities include assessing patients continuously, developing and documenting individualized plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, serving as a preceptor to new staff, and functioning as a charge nurse. Demonstrates competency in neuro care, airway management for neuro patients, care of trached patients, and uses devices such as LVAD/ECMO as part of advanced cardiac care. Requires BSN (preferred), CT RN licensure, and BCLS certification; offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- BCLS certification (or ability to obtain within one month of hire).
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged.
