Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – VAD Coordinator responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and supervising patient care on a nursing unit; provides supervision of non-RN personnel, serves as charge nurse, and may work on other units. Responsibilities include neuro patient care, neuro assessments, airway management, care of trached patients, assisting physicians, and education planning for patients and families. Requires nursing degree; BSN preferred; active CT RN license with BCLS; clinical certification encouraged. Unit-specific context includes Cardiac ICU, CTICU/WP3, and HVC Cardiovascular ICU with LVAD/ECMO capabilities. Demonstrates core values of integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion. Supports professional development and may function as preceptor to new staff and as a charge nurse. Location: San Mateo, CA; on-site role in a hospital setting; full-time schedule; salary commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
